Topic #1 – Weather

1. What kind of weather do you like the most?

I like the warm days when the air is a little cool but the sun makes it feel warmer. I like to cuddle up under a blanket when it gets cold outside. Springlike temperature in March and November of the year is my favourite . Apart from that, I like the thunderstorms we get in the summer months. I may sound absurd but the sound of thunderstorm is… just amazing.

2. What’s the weather like in your hometown?

The weather in my hometown (Ludhiana, Punjab) remains calm and enjoyable, with temperatures usually hovering between 0°C and 26°C. We relish the pleasant climate and countless festivals during winters, that make it the best time of the year to explore city’s tourist spots.

3. Do you like the weather in your hometown?

Honestly speaking, I am not a huge fan of the summers in my hometown, winters are okay !!! The scorching heat in the months of May & June is unbearable at my place. But thank god, we have cooler places like Shimla & Manali where I go to escape from the heat.

4. Do you prefer dry or wet weather?

I would always pick wet weather over the dry season. This is because, after months of searing summer heat, the monsoon is a welcome change. I am fond of cool weather, cloudy sky and the downpour.

1. Have you ever lost your way?

Oh yes, many times I had lost track. Today itself while coming to the test centre, I took an extra turn and lost my way. But thankfully, locals helped me reach here.

2. How can you find your way when you are lost?

Well…I use the internet whenever I feel like I am lost. I am of the view that Google maps are the best thing since sliced bread. Gone are the days when asking people about directions was our sole option. With advanced G-Maps on iPhone, one could get the layout of roads, the locations of cities and towns, state boundaries, geographical features, restaurant reviews and even satellite images. What more help could somebody want ???

3. Can you read a map when you get lost?

Ummm.. map reading can be my thing. I can easily interpret different geographical locations portrayed on the map. So to answer your question..Yes, I can read and find my way through some uncharted territory with the help of a map.

4. Have you ever helped someone who got lost?

Let me think… Yes, recently I helped an old man who appeared to be separated from his family at the Golden Temple. He was suffering from Dementia. So I grabbed his hand and took him to the help desk. They made an announcement and within minutes he was reunited with his family.

2. What do you do to help you concentrate?
3. What may distract you when you are trying to stay focused?
4. When do you need to be focused?

1. Is it difficult for you to stay focused on something?

Well.. sometimes I find it rather difficult to focus on something especially when I am stressed or under emotional breakdown. To be honest; I’m a firm believer that multitasking isn’t always bad. However, when I have way too many plates spinning at one time, my focus feels depleted.

 2. What do you do to help you concentrate?

To help me focus, I usually sip a glass of my favourite coffee and start my activity. Coffee, I believe.. is THE BEST attention booster.

3. What may distract you when you are trying to stay focused?

The continuous drumbeat of noise from email, social media messages, and cell phone can cause distraction to me. If I want real focus, I take myself offline until I’ve accomplished my task. Moreover, there are also internal distractions such as hunger, fatigue, illness, worrying, and daydreaming that sidetrack my focus.

4. When do you need to be focused?

I often need to be focused while working on my group assignment or project presentation.
